At least it did...I quit watching a couple years ago. Something about it is just...unclean, somehow. A bunch of degenerates living in a filthy house, doing filthy stuff with their filthy bodies...
There's gay sex, webcam sex, anal stuff...a bunch of that, but mostly its just the set pieces...I guess, maybe. It seems like every other place you see is somewhere you'd never want to be. Like when you're driving through some seedy neighborhood and can't help but creep yourself out by trying to imagine living there.

Their house...that neighborhood, the places they stop to talk while on foot, walking the streets. Its all for sh*t, its a dirty, dirty show...like the intro to Welcome back Kotta, it just seems bleak and gross somehow.
Maybe its too try-hard in regards to the "urban" aspect of it, I don't know. I DO know that its not good for you and Jesus certainly disapproves, but mostly I'm just curious if anyone else has this...not quite explainable feeling from this show.

I feel the same exact way. The Gallagher house must smell like shit. There’s always like 50 people living there and they always smoke inside. Disgusting!

I watched it once and it was just dirty trashy people doing dirty trashy stuff. Depressing.

Imagine enitre buildings and towns with people like this.

These people piss in their own damn stair wells of their buildings.

Even animals dont sh*t where they sleep.

It is extremely depressing. If you ever feel that your neighborhood or house is in the dumps, just turn on the show and you'll feel much better about your living conditions.

Imagine living underneath the Chicago railway in the south side, having to hear that thing screech and squeal every few minutes at all hours of the day.

It’s an accurate representation of much of Chicago, a dirty city with dirty people. Honestly I used to go to Chicago and New York regularly for work and New York is a GIANT step up in terms of the kind of people and atmosphere of Chicago. Even the wealthy and classiest parts of Chicago just feel gross.

I’m not sure but I think that it’s ‘supposed’ to make you feel that way. The title is shameless and the characters are from the poor South Side of Chicago where a lot of immigrants from Russia and Poland settled along with much of the under class of the nation came to seek work.
