shareThere are rumours that she'll leave after the seventh season because there were rumours that she wouldn't even be in the premiere episode. The premiere is already available to watch and we can already say Fiona is there.
If she'll leave after the seventh season, we don't know yet. The main cast contract ends after season 7 and they'll have to renew it (if it's not renewed already). This is usually a gold opportunity for the actors to get more money. Shameless is still big for Showtime and Rossum is an essential part of it.
I honestly don't think there is a show without her (and Macy), so if she is leaving, they would've announced it as the final season.
As for future seasons, the producers said they are talking about going beyond season 8 and that would be up to Showtime executives. We already know that Homeland was renewed for two seasons (seventh and eighth). Alex Gansa said that him and Claire Danes want to end the show with 8 seasons, but the executives want more. Since Shameless is still one of Showtime's biggest hits and that Showtime doesn't have any other comedy/dramedy to replace it, I assume the executives would be pretty interested in more seasons for the show. The producers already stated that they want more than 8 seasons. So it's really up for the actors, because just like there isn't Homeland without Claire Danes, there isn't Shameless without Emmy Rossum and William H. Macy. As strong as the supporting characters are.

shareOh I'm aware of that. Not only in other forums but in this one too. Thing is, despite the hardcore fans thinking Frank needs to go, he is still a huge draw for the general audience and Shameless is a dramedy after all, and Frank personifies that shameless soul of the show. Not to mention that William H. Macy is a guaranteed Emmy nomination every year, among other awards.
