Plus genuine scares. For a "rip-off" movie, it's miles above PA.
I want some of what you're smoking. Must be some really good stuff.
Let's see...genuine scares? I think not. Entity was considerably lower budget than PA and it shows since everything in entity happened either off screen to where the audience couldn't see the paranormal incident or after the fact when the paranormal event had already passed. There was only one interesting scene in all of Entity that actually happened on the screen and it was the bells on the wire, but it was a mediocre scene at best.
Samantha being attacked in her bedroom? Off screen because the closet door conveniently closed in front of the camera. TV randomly turning itself on? Hardly interesting and not very convincing of something "paranormal" since you all need is a crew member off screen with a remote control. Footsteps on the ceiling? Unique idea, but not interesting to watch since the brother didn't film it until after the fact when the event was over. Actually seeing the footprints making the impression in the ceiling as it happened would've made the scene better. The bedspread being pulled off the bed by an "invisible" force? Not a bad scene until you notice the technical screwup. At 1:01:42 you can see the crew member's hand who is pulling the wire accidentally flash across the lower left had corner of the frame. Was entity so low budget that they couldn't afford to reshoot that scene? That's something the video editor should have been fired for missing. Paranormal investigator being killed? Off screen and not to mention the blood from his mouth looked horribly fake. I could've made better looking blood with corn syrup and red dye. The ending was also a contradiction where Sam is covered in blood so Thomas puts the camera down, but when he picks the camera back up all of the blood is mysteriously gone off of her body.
Not to mention the 911 call of Thomas screaming, "it killed my mother!" blatantly contradicts the synopsis at the end of the movie which says the mother commits suicide after learning both of her kids are dead.
PA had superior scenes and all of which you can see happening on screen during the occurrence of the paranormal activity. The footsteps in the powder? Nice scene when you actually see the invisible force walking through the powder. The Ouija board moving by itself and catching on fire? One of my favorite scenes. Katie being dragged out of the bed? Superior to any scene Entity had to offer. PA also didn't have a technical screwup being caught on film like Entity.
I've come to the conclusion that because Entity has a more attractive and thinner female lead that a bunch of horndogs have gotten together and decided to promote Entity as the better movie simply because of the nudity.

And if there's anyone out there thinking of watching it for the T&A as 'Faustus' put it. There is no 'A' at all and literally about a two second flash of a pair of average (visibly enhanced) 'T's'.
But it is a marginally better watch than Paranormal Activity.
