a chance it was the brother? *spoilers*

I was wondering, if this was real - would there be a strong case based on the footage to charge/convict the brother? There were some things that made me wonder... NOTHING ever happened to him, only the women and he seemed to always be zooming in on his sister's boobs and 'accidently' walking in on her in her underwear, and then the bath tub scene when she was naked.

WHY was the brother's face never shown? The closest we get is the bathroom scene. We see the back of his head. Even in the scene where hes apologizing to his mother he is looking directly at the camera but its too dark to see his face.

because they didn't want you to see that it was a 30 year old playing the role of a 17 year old boy? just a shot in the dark...

lol seriously though, i noticed that too.

Actually it says on the back of the DVD box that the brother is supposed to be 24 or something, not 17.

I wouldn't want to show my face if I were in any way associated with this abomination, either.

To those who think they saw some sort of attraction/hint of awkwardness between the brother and sister. Perhaps it was the actors? Maybe there was an attraction between them. It was an amateur production afterall.

If impersonating a Police Officer is an offence, shouldn't actors be imprisoned?

I thought the attraction was purely a one way street. There were times when it seemed that Sam's spidey sense kicked in and made her aware of the bothers perv factor. I also had the feeling that he wouldn't have minded adding dear old mom to his love nest either. There was one scene where she's laying on her bed in a blue robe and he pans down her whole figure with the camera.

"In the start of the movie he is talking to 911 and screaming about his dead sister. Then he says "THEY KILLED MY MOM" WTF? No one killed his mother but herself and that was AFTER she found out both her kids were dead!!! This is confirmed after the end of the *movie*"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The guy wasn't a doctor or anything..did you ever think that maybe he THOUGHT she was dead? The guy was scared I doubt he'd check for anything like a pulse. She could have been unconseious(sp) or something.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
"@ the end he finds his sister in her room being attacked by the demon or whatever she is covered in blood! After everything goes quiet, he picks up the camera and pans over her body....she is no longer covered in blood."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just considered that part of the movie. I mean look at how obivous it is..There's just no way its a goof..They prob did it like that to show the difference between what he saw and what was actually there, or maybe the spirit (more like demon) had something to do with it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Another thing I didn't like was the fact that when the paranormal investigator tells the brother and sister that he needs their attention the screen fades to black and then goes into the girl screaming and the dead guy. WHAT happened in between them sitting on the couch and the murders? WHY was the camera shut off? There was a camera in every room but AFTER the investigator shows up then they turn them off? It doesn't make sense.."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Maybe the spirit turned it off. I mean at the start the spirit pushed the camera behind the door in the closet before attacking Sam- I'm sure it'd be able to turn it off. And anyway it could have been that the battery was drained. Spirits have to gain energy to be able to show themselves- so it could have drained the battery at that moment. It prob didn't want us to see what happened..you know "leave it up to the imganation" type thing.
And I don't think there was a camera in every room. I think there was just the 2. The one really good one, and the other most likely home video-type camera. Because during the day he carried the camera around with him, and at night put it in Sam's room on the tripod. Then he most likely used the other one for nighttime when the other one was in Sam's room.

Come on..think a little more before coming to complain about stuff that is pretty easily explained...

Like I said he could have THOUGHT she was dead..or as good as dead because of what happened to her..
Now you want proof?? WTH? The point of the movie was to NOT show you everything and to leave most of it up to your mind (helloo blair witch project/paranormal activity/paranormal entity anyone. They WERN'T GONNA show you everything, or else it wouldn't have been as good or suspensful(sp) And I was not getting mad I was pointing out that almost (pretty much all) of the stuff you had issues with can clearly be explained if you THINK about it, and THINK about what they wanted you to see..Why do you think it was filmed on a handheld camera? So you have to THINK about whats going on because you cant see everything..and your mind takes over. And whatever your mind can comeup with is much worse then what anyone could show you..

Personally, I think its more plausible that the Medium perhaps asked them not to film whatever he had planned.

So why did the cops arrest the brother if there was all his footage. Wouldn't all of that have shown them that is was something supernatural, and that it showed Thomas running to his sister's room as she was dying??? Idk, whatever. Still a decent movie and way better that Paranormal Activity.

reply

In the beginning of the movie there was an indication that it was one of those "the footage was found a year later" type of deals. Pretty much the same as Blair witch. And I agree, not a bad flick for a rip off...pretty entertaining actually.

The idea of an incubus was an idea brought up by people to explain the pregnancies of unmarried girls in well to do homes. It was a way to deflect blame from the father or brother who did rape the girl. There are many ways you could use the film footage to blame the brother for the rape and murder. He could have easily edited the footage.

reply

Well since Sam was screaming well before her brother came in on where she was screaming from I think it clears him. However, it was weird what the mom did and who knows what really happened between the beginning and the end where the mom was murdered then committed suicide.
