So wait, the mom and the son both killed themselves?

On the back of the dvd it says that Thomas Finley killed himself after being arrested for the murders of his sister and the doctor.

But in the end of the movie it says that Ellen Finley, the mom, killed herself in the hospital when she heard about her children dying?

So did they just write contradicting stuff at the end of the movie and on the dvd cover, or did they both commit suicide?

Or did Thomas kill himself, and then they told the mom about them both dying, and then she killed herself?

Very confusing.

Yea that would make the most sense. Whether or not the people who made the film meant it like that is unclear.
