Obvious 'goof' not mentioned

At the end, while Sam is getting raped, she's covered in blood on her chest up to her face. Hell, it's on the cover of the DVD. Thomas sets the camera down, he then picks it up and shows us Sam but all the blood is gone. All we see is a cut on her chest.

Yeah, and she was raped but yet the raper left here underwear on. It made sense to take her bra off, but not the underwear? Where the penetration happened? Today's movies are so prudish about that kind of thing compared to the late 70s early 80s. God forbid they show any public hair.

reply

I thought I saw her underwear was still on, too. Did anybody that was involved in the making of this movie notice the really BAD goofs?

Public hair?

That's not a goof. It was done to set up Thomas. Think about it, why would Samantha have a ton of blood on her and not Thomas if he "raped" her??

reply

You actually believe that? LOL...yeah...explain all the other obvious flaws.

reply

I thought she was being bent over backwards in an attempt to snap her spine, not her being raped.

I don't think that has anything to do with it tbh.

Interesting that you believe that she was just having her spine snapped, and not being raped by the demon..and that you go on to say in your next post that you believe that the scene has nothing to do with Sam being raped..

I must say this is one detail that the movie made expressly clear..the target was Sam and the entire motivating factor was the demon wanted Sam, sexually.

The demon that was attacking the family was a sexual demon whose entire M.O. is raping women while they sleep(as the Dr said comparable to the Christian demon known as an incubus/succubus)

The text of the movie says that Sam was raped and murdered.. So, again this is the one point that the movie made certain was clear.. Sam was the target and the demon's entire motive was to rape her.

Her being raped has everything to do with it, where as your belief is that Sam being raped has nothing to do with it.

I wouldn't call it a goof, it was obviously intentional. A bad choice though perhaps I don't see the rational. A more obvious goof is that in the phone call at the start the guy says 'it; killed his sister & mom. But it didn't, the mom was still alive when that call was made....
