And another thing...

They were obviously in one of those model McMansion homes, except one that wasn't occupied (think the Bluth's model house on Arrested Development). The house was practically empty, as was the fridge, as were all of the bedrooms, and as was the sister's top drawer which contained only her diary and a towel (or something). It didn't look lived-in at all. I think that was the worst part of the movie. They would have been better off doing it in a crew member's grandma's house or something.

Yes I noticed this too.

I was thinking even for people that live spartan, there was nothing in their house.

Not to mention the control unit for the HVAC was covered with a clear plastic case which was locked, mainly so people touring the demo house can't screw around with the controls.

But a nice house, for sure. And not that terrible of a movie either...

Haha...talk about nitpicking....

I too noticed that some areas of the house were too bare...but it was a nice place, who cares if it was a set

This comment tells me that you're comments have no validity for me, because your standards are so low. It also tells me that you are either a crazed fanboy or apart of this production.

A set designer is very important in movies. Could you imagine The Texas Chainsaw Massacre happening in one of these mcmansions, or if the house where all the murders happened was spotlessly clean?

Yeah, it would have wrecked the movie experience.

I noticed this too. The house had furniture, yes, but it still had an "empty" feeling to it that I couldn't put my finger on. Now that you mention "model home," that seems to make sense. It really bugged me.

It had that empty feeling because there were no personal pictures hung up anywhere, no nic-nacs, no clutter. Even the son had only a few pieces of carefully selected artwork on his wall. It wasn't believable. Lazy production. They must have used a model home and only had a couple of days to shoot. At least in PA the house looked semi lived in.

Did anyone else feel that while the house looked like it was expensive, the doors looked so CHEAP? And not to mention that the 2 white painted walls in the sister's room looked like each of them were made up of 2 separate pieces put together, one on top of the other?

You have these teenagers living in the house and it looks like a model showroom?

No clothes on floors, no posters on walls, the dresser in the daughters room had two articles of clothing in it?

This was completely bunk and obviously a set designer was not thought of.

It seemed to me like it was a rentable house. Like a lakehouse or a house near a ski resort in the Poconos.

In Samantha's closet (where her bedroom camera was mounted) there was not one piece of clothing hanging up!

This was my biggest gripe too, a teenager/20something with an empty closet? Lack of attention to detail right there.
