Synopsis sounds like 'The TV Set'

Haven't seen the show, but the synopsis is very similar to this:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0473709/

Duchovny sells his highly personal script in hollywood and is backed by an impassioned producer fresh from the BBC who find the project spiral into homogenised garbage as it gets closer to production. Not a great movie but worth a watch, if you're a fan of this show the concept might hit a few bulls eyes, too.

Never tell me the odds.

I loved the TV Set & I love episodes, the similarity is mainly just in the early part of season 1.

The other two great Hollywood black comedies are SOB and The Player. Those of us who have watched foreign originals first and then the Hollyweird bastardization knew that the concept for Episodes was long overdue. It has gotten to the point where I start thinking about what Hollyweird would do it as I'm watching a new show. My top pick for this at the moment is Upper Middle Bogan, which is a show about culture clash that could easily happen in any major city in the US. The US version of Rake suffered because is was on an OTA network. It would have been better on AMC/FX and could have reached its full potential on HBO, but at that point, why not just acquire the rights to the AU version (which was perfect) and be done with it. To me, this is the future of Netflix. Bring the originals to the masses for much less $$$. I'm also seeing more houses with dishes pointed out over the Atlantic or Pacific. We are in the third stage of distribution now, going from local antenna, to cable, to satellite/internet.

I think my percentage of Chimp DNA is higher than others. Cleaver Greene
