Summer assignment:: compare and contrast with The Comedians

I marathoned through the first 7 eps last night. Seemed to have a few similar characters, such as the producer who has inappropriate work relationships, the "out-of-touch" suits, and the production assistant/secretary who doesn't do her job. And some relationships are similar too, such as Matt relating to the younger star of Pucks the same way that Crystal shows a bit of disdain for Gad. I watch SNL with my 12yo and it seems that The Comedians is taking advantage of the comedy disconnect that happens between people over and under, say, 40 yo. I haven't recognized an SNL musical guest in years.

I don't think it is ripping material from Episodes, but rather just exploiting the same obvious stereotypes. I do wonder if they considered doing Episodes as a mockumentary, but were a bit too worried at appearing to copy The Office on two different levels.

I think my percentage of Chimp DNA is higher than others. Cleaver Greene
