Houston, we have a problem
I have waited for this film for a while. It was filmed here in Houston and about Houston lawyers - one of whom still practices law here. I saw an advanced screening last night at the Edwards, which was great. I loved the movie. Loved seeing Houston on the big screen. I thought the performances by Mark Kassen, Chris Evans and especially Marshall Bell we astounding. Chris Lopata did an excellent job with the script. I think they did Mike Weiss justice without being preachy or trying to make you pity the man Mike was.
My ONLY complaint is the film premiered in New York last week. The cast was there for the premiere. It will premiere in Los Angeles and Houston this weekend (9/23). Mark and Chris will be at the LA premiere, meaning Houston is left standing at the alter. Seems sad that we are good enough to film in and about, but you only attend the premieres of the big money markets. A very facetious thank you for making a great story of a real-life anti-hero so very Hollywood. Where the film delves so much in to how big money plays a part in the movement of the Safety-Point needle, you have essentially done the same thing with your story. Great movie, sad outcome.
