what was the deal with the kids? (spoilers)
At the end why did the little girl run away and find that boy? was that the same woman the teacher was on the phone to when he was al psycho?

The boy was scared because someone threw a rock at his window, so he called the little girl and she snuck out and went over. They had a cute love/crush relationship.
That woman was not the same woman that Barry (the teacher) called, she was just the little boy's mother.
