Jenny (Katie Boland character)
At first the character was closed minded, she calls Caroline a slut in the bathroom and is then completely transformed in two minutes by Caroline's rant
She becomes apart of Caroline's "sexual revolution" in a way and starts to become less stuck up and begins to make passes at Thurston
Eventually she throws a Christmas party and is close to making love to Thurston who is intoxicated and slightly resistant.
This is the part of Jenny's storyline that interested me because she wakes up the next day and finds her house destroyed. She stands in the middle of her living room with feathers floating around her from her couch cushions
Why do you think this happened?
Jenny loses her childish innocence in the bathroom and begins to blossom but remains a victim by the end of her story. I thought that this could be the start of her life. Instead of planning her wedding the first part of life and then spending the rest of her life regretting it she experiences an unexpected tragedy like Caroline with her mother death and Thurston with his father and best friend in the car crash incident. Is she destined to be what Caroline pretty much said or is she now liberated and the party was her first step of rebellion (seems to be the beginning to coming of age stories)?
