I reckon Caroline's dad was way too harsh on Thurston. Yeah he was acting weird, and didn't really make a good first impression, but he was obviously harmless and clearly just in love with his daughter.

I agree. Thurston seemed to be adorably awkward and genuinely concerned about Caroline and her father was far too harsh on him. Although I wouldn't be surprised if he, along with other parents in the area, were treating strange people that way, with a serial killer on the loose targeting young girls. Or maybe I am reading too much into it and her dad was just a jerk lol
