Observations and a Few Questions (Spoilers)
From the onset of this flick, the premise became predictable. The foreshadowing of the tray dropping to the floor, the trip, how the little pervert man makes his rounds. Actions were forced just to have some way for the audience to see similarities in the days.
I didn't get the part of the dam jumper. Once they saved her, did they abandon the idea on following iterations? What was up with that person? Why introduce that and just drop it? That's a loose end, a plot hole.
Why did Weeks become weak? His father denied him but I don't recall ever finding out what he did. Perhaps I was distracted, but it sounded like he did something to get his father sent to prison. Why was he even included in the loop?
Why doesn't lover boy confront daddy's girl about having sex with Weeks? I thought it was clear that Weeks had sex with her and she used the exact same line she used with lover boy. That just blew right by.
Why was lover boy so stupid to think the same club at the same barn would yield different results? Why was daddy's girl always a victim? All she had to do was tell her father a few words and that was that, but her sole purpose in the film was a pretty face and a victim for lover boy to save.
Why does lover boy have such a low rate mom? Mom cannot control her kids, so lover boy has to get out of rehab, and in the process of 2 days, he's changed everything. Moral to the story? Women are inherently weak creatures.
Why wouldn't all of them figure out what day it is as soon as they wake?
Since everything restarts anew, at what time in the night does that occur? Would staying up all night make a difference?
Why were so many foreshadows not followed up on?
Lover boy was a jerk to his mom even after she bailed him out. That's who he is. All the time in rehab did nothing for him. Moral of the story: Rehab doesn't work.
Loose ends:
1. Tripping boy
2. Tray dropping
3. Perv counselor
6. Counseling session not finished (counselor said this will repeat until we deal with it, so that was foreshadowing)
7. HS principal
Was the town so small that Weeks could find the other two so easily?
How does Weeks get guns so early in the morning?
Could the blood on the faces get any more obviously fake with nary a wound?
How is it that Weeks can kill two cops before one can fire a round (who's already drawn) and before the other can clear holster, yet cannot deal a fatal blow on lover boy at point blank range? If you say he wasn't trying to kill him, why did he suddenly get religion?
