They actually died and got fatally electrocuted at the start of the movie from the storm. The rest of the movie then takes place in purgatory and there is no actual timeloop. Kyle and Sonia finally resolved their issues and have comes to terms with themselves and have moved on and are no longer stuck. Weeks hasn't yet, so is still stuck in Purgatory.

The endind is clear,the loop lasted two days this time,wednesday and thursday,and when thursday ended ,they went back to wednesday all over again,because mike woke up,he got back to life! now they will be more carefull about what they do with their day that they will probably continue living it over and over again. I think the loop will close only if all 3 of them resolve their issues and not only sonia and carl, or maybe,it will never close..
