I haven't gotten around to posing this yet but I was VERY impressed with season 7A. This was the first time in a while where a majority of the episodes we're actually dedicated to a mystery. And that's another thing, this season had so many different mysteries and surprising deaths. The first couple episodes were dedicated to saving Hanna from AD. The next few episodes were about the connection between Mary and Rollins. Then the episodes were about finding out what Jenna and Noel were up to and of course the mystery of the second baby.

As far as 7A goes, season 7 has been on par with season 2 imo. Of course it wasn't perfect (girls still making stupid mistakes, relationship filler) but even the romantic aspect kind of took a back seat for me despite this being labeled the most romantic season which doesn't come close to 6B which was a legit romantic soap opera. 6B was the worst to me which is why I'm surprised the writers took the show back to its roots and made it interesting again. Hopefully I'm not speaking to soon and 7B is just as good or even better than 7A because it would be amazing if we got one last amazing season that felt like the shows golden age in season 2.

What did you guys think of 7A in terms of quality when compared to other seasons?

This is going to be an unpopular opinion, but I wasn't as impressed with 7A as a lot of others were. It was definitely better than it's been in a few years, but I feel like if 6B hadn't been so terrible, 7A wouldn't have seemed as great. There was certainly a lot more suspense and action, but I was still frustrated with the lack of answers, find most of the characters kind of unlikable, and finished a lot of the episodes almost angry.

I'm kind of over the show in general though, so that might have something to do with it. Overall it had some really good episodes that I'd watch again.

That godawful Spencer/Caleb/Hanna door scene aside, 7A has been very enjoyable. I've actually much preferred it to season 6 in it's entirety. Here's hoping Mar doesn't let us down for the final stretch.

I agree that the reason why season 7A felt great has to do with it being aired after the snooze fest, disappointing season 6B or season 6 in general. It focused more on mystery and a little less on the "mushy squash". But I wouldn't compare it to seasons 1-2. It was definitely better than seasons 5-6 but it's par with seasons 3-4.

7A wasn't good. Sure it didn't suck rocks like season 6 but it was still bland, and filled with contrived drama. It had it's better moments but overall it was not a great season.

The world isn't split into good people and Death Eaters.

I agree. I thought season 7a was okay and certainly a nice improvement over season 6. Though as another poster mentioned, those Scooby Doo masks were over the top. Those masks kinda ruins the 'serious' or mature tone that season 7 supposedly got going for, next to the arbitrary Amojis.

I was impressed and enjoyed 7A. It was a good a season I think.
