Wait, didn't they make this one already?

I know I already saw this movie last year http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1142433/

I was about the write the exact same message. But who knows, Tiny Furniture it might actually be worth watching?

I haven't seen Post-Grad, but judging from trailers/reviews, the two movies are very different in terms of their sensibilities/character arcs/general aesthetic. "Furniture"'s central character has a fairly nuanced relationship with her family (mother and sister), and has two romantic interests that are unusual in that both treat her extremely poorly (which she's basically aware of, but let's happen anyways). The only friend of hers from her college years that the audience meets has a fairly small role, is basically screwed over by the main character, and is not seen again. Also, the scale of "Furniture" is much smaller than "Post-Grad", while maintaing a much less artificial look (again, this is judging from the Post-Grad trailer). In a very superficial, general plot sense, the two movies are similar, but I'm guessing watching both would reveal two very different films.

I loved Post-Grad, you should see it. The trailer and ads didn't do it justice. Then again, I'm a huge Alexis Bledel fan (Gilmore Girl's superfan lol) so I love anything that stars her.I will try to see this movie if it comes out here, or at least try to find a DVD. It does sound a bit generic. Nevertheless, like psxff7 said it may be good anyway.

Here's hoping!

I haven't seen this movie yet, but it sounds a lot like "Momma's Man":

Yeah but this movie was made by a 23 year old unnattractive woman for $100 starring a bunch of indie actors and has a lot of indie music in it, and screened at South by Southwest and a bunch of other indie fests, so, you know, it's totally much better!!!

I actually thought this film was more akin to Noah Baumbach's Greenberg (which I also despised). However atleast Greenberg was outrightly depressed, so some of his actions made sense.

Yeah, I've seen Greenberg and Post Grad and while I can't deny the similarities I also can't get too worked up about it. So many films borrow unapologetically from others I've lost count.
I am one of the few people I know that did not enjoy this movie nor do I like the very well received "Girls" on HBO.
My mid 20's after college NYC living experience involved fighting the local crack whore and trying not to get mugged or stabbed by the roving gangs of thugs who lived near my sh*tHOle apartment. Oh, and trying not to starve.
So, I had a hard time relating to it.
