Whatever god that rules this world is a straight up dick! (spoiler)

So he puts the fate of the world in the hands of one family? Fine, but at least present it in way where the people making the choice think it's a real scenario. How about a burning bush that talks or maybe part the water in that lake. But sending four jackasses who just appear crazy without proof pretty much guaranteed that the answer would always be no and hundreds of thousands die each time.

Then he ends it with global lightning strikes setting the earth ablaze, which pretty much means the family now has the ultimatum of either killing a loved one or dying shortly in the smoldering ruins. Almost anyone would agree with the world going to hell around them. In the end, they never had a choice.

Pretty sure he just wanted to thin the herd and this was a fun way to do it.
