The cops mention "we found a cat!" but it's unlikely they'd immediately extract the cat from inside (and where would they put it? inside a cop car?)... and last we saw he was in the bathroom, immediately adjacent to the source of the gas explosion.
sharei assume so, besides that, the heaven sequence features only dead people, so he tought the dog had died (since the cat told him so) and i guess he figured the cat was in a perilous enough situation to have survived thats why he was in the fantasy at the end.

Yeah I thought they'd died in the explosion. Or maybe the spirit-animals were just the parts of Jerry that he'd projected onto the real animals leaving him now he'd left behind his physical body with its malfunctioning brain.

Having watched it again, I see that Bosco ran off before the climax and others have pointed out a line about contacting an animal shelter, suggesting Mr Whiskers was rescued. The animals in Heaven were just the manifestation of Jerry's illness, leaving now that he had left his broken physical brain behind.

I am assuming the cat is fine. One of the offices said, "I found a cat." Less than a minute later, during an outside shot, another officer says, "Hey, we found a cat and a dog." Someone else responds, "Call the animal shelter." This is minutes before the explosion. I hope this helps.
shareOne of the policemen mentioned he caught a cat. Later they say they have a dog and cat and are taking them to the animal shelter. So both pets survive. Hopefully their next homes have sane owners. Although Jerry was never abusive to his pets, they were treated well.

We don't actually know that. When we saw Jerry's real life, there was animal poop all over the apartment. Jerry wasn't cleaning up after them or caring for them properly. If they were lucky, they were being fed.
