She was starting to freeze so she needed to stop, I was going to complain about the same thing at first but then I thought it made some sort of sense that Scott went in first because he was the strongest to handle the machine, then Malia and they would leave Lydia at the end because she was a human who could not get into the machine, but they were starting to get Stiles back already it just was not enough yet.

Malia? Really? He cared about her but they werent even together that long. If people have issues with it being Lydia, every single reason would also apply to Malia if not worse than Lydia. If you remember from season 3, Lydia was Stiles's anchor back from the nemeton.
Really, no question, it shouldve been Scott, but I think it is all a misunderstanding. I think the writers intended for each person's thing to actually be helping and building up to Stiles, which is why Malia is the one shown starting it even though she arguably has the weakest relationship with stiles. Its as scott had already done some of the progress. Lydia just finished it.
Scott could have done it..should have been the one to do it. When that fire flare was in his hand, I couldn't help but start to tear up. But the whole "frozen" thing got in the way. If he was under like Lydia instead of being in the frozen bunker, he could have done it. Oh well, still a good episode none the less. This season has been amazing so far.

i also believe that scott has the strongest connection to stiles. they're practically brothers after all, but that doesn't mean stiles and lydia can't also have a strong connection, if of a different kind.
let's face it. people have fought against family over a girlfriend or boyfriend. we've got imortal stories about such things (think romeo & juliet). the people you love are very important in your life but it's the ones that you're IN love with that make you grow and leave the nest to live your own life.
you people talk about stiles being malia's anchor? lydia was stiles' anchor in 3A!
i like stydia for endgame. i'm gald they're at least giving us that since they've teased and disapointed in so many other things 😒
of course,knowing the writers, they'll kill off stiles and there's no stydia 😞

Absolutely agree with you. I don't mind stydia that much (but not a big fan either) and I do believe they have a deep connection but it cannot even remotely compare with Scott and Stiles' connection or the one he has with his father.
It was a terrible episode, very poorly written. The worst thing in the episode was when they pushed Scott aside and made Lydia into Stiles' best friend. Totally ridiculous. Scott is Stiles' best friend and brother. They are making Lydia into the best friend to please the Stydia shippers. Lydia has shown zero interest in Stiles romantically for the first five seasons. The Stydia shippers want a romance so much that they have imagined a romantic interest from Lydia. It does not exist, and the writers are hurting the credibility of the show by writing it.

i agree with the scott and stiles friendship. i mean, it was the basis of the whole show their frienship. but they've been burning it slowly. what happened in season 5 really irritated me. the way scott just believed theo while stiles was telling him to believe in him. they completely burned that friendship and then tried to get it back by having stiles bending to it. we never actually heard scott apologize for doubting him. not in so many words.
and as to stydia, i'm ok with hints. what's wrong with just hints? why should it be something obvious? i believe they've been slowly building stydia but since TW is suddenly gonna end, they hurried it. maybe a bit too much. but they have no choice in the matter. if stydia is the endgame they really need to hurry it up because they don't have much time for it anymore.
they should have started being more obvious in 5B then it wouldn't be such a shock to so many people 😒
