I think people are getting this wrong, it's not about Lydia having stronger connection with Stiles than Scott, it's that she was the last one to see him + they used a different tactic so she had more time!

And we all knew this season was gonna be Stydia centred, Scott' and Stile's brotherhood has been the focus all along, I don't see a problem with Lydia and Stiles being in front now, especially because it's the last season and they won't have another season left to explore Stydia.

And I'm sure Scott and Stiles will have a beautiful reunion and we'll all cry.

Stydia would ruin the basic premise of the show. The friendship of Scott and Stiles. The show is sinking faster than the Titanic.

I think it also has to do with her being a banshee. If that other banshee can conjure up her dead son than Lydia can conjure up a doorway. Like Parrish she's also connected to the hunt in some way. It's why they respect her and leave her alone.

I saw it as a door in a way. Scott unlocked it, Malia turned the handle, and Lydia opened the door.

There in lies the problem.

They don't need to focus on Stydia. If they wanted to do it, they should've done it sooner. Now it's too little, too late, so it just seems forced and out of place.
