Agreed. It felt like an old school episode. It was really fun, fast paced, and full of character!! It ended on an optimistic note as well, which was surprising to me!! I was prepared for doom and gloom.

It wasn't bad, but I thought it had some weakness. The Riders have been so hard to defeat all season, but suddenly everyone is kicking their asses. The ending of Douglas seemed equally simplistic. I thought Corey being the gateway was an interesting idea. And I liked DOB being back, in spite of the fact that Stiles is not my favorite character *duckandcover*.
It was nice of the writers to finally remember that Lydia is one of the most powerful characters, although frankly it just reminded me how many times they forget that the banshee is a bad ass. And what happened to Parish? They snapped him out of Douglas' control and...he answers the phone at the end of the episode. And as others have mentioned, the line where Melissa tells Argent "that was so hot"...cringeworthy.
I liked that the ending sort of wrapped up rather than hanging on for 6B. And they did a decent job establishing Liam and Mason as the next gen Scott and Stiles. But still hoping that 6B is a more worthy conclusion for the series.
