Confused about a scene
Rose fires Joe's nurse and hires another woman.
Joe is upset and writes "revenge" on his slate.
What was that about? Did I miss something?

They showed the whole scene with Rosemary, the daughter that was sent away. Rose was very attached to Rosemary and Joe was attached to that nurse.
shareI saw it as Joe knew that Rose fired Meredith (his last mistress) to get him back for all the pain he had caused her. He writes revenge and she tells him, it is revenge, not hers, but god's (meaning the whole situation, him being completely inept, not just him losing his mistress.)
