Question about Jackie Kennedy

I havent seen this series, but I have seen alot of commercials for it and had to ask. Did Jackie Kennedy have a weird case of face spasms? Or is that just Katie Holmes?

Oh, brother...

Can you imagine no first dance, freeze dried romance, five-hour phone conversation?

This may answer your question, at http://www.hulu.com/watch/5135/nbc-news-time-capsule-jacqueline-kenned y-the-white-house-tour It runs a little under an hour. Focus on Mrs. Kennedy, watching her eyes.

I feel bad about criticizing Holmes' performance. I've seen the video before but I had never much paid attention to the way Jackie's face moved. She did flutter her lashes a lot.

Was she (Jackie, not Katie) mimicking Marilyn with her whispery voice in her WH tour video? I don't mind her accent as much as her delivery.

reply

Nope, that was Jackie's normal "public" voice.

reply

no- Jackie's normal voice- if you watch specials on Jackie's life - her cousin explains - she was very timid and shy and could sometimes "disarm" people with her voice-I think its beautiful-as for Marilyn, speaking from someone who knew her friend- HER soft wispery voice- was not real. - remember- there was Marilyn ( the image) and normajean- ( the person
she had a beautiful voice as well

There's a new item to be released in a couple days that just might answer that question at least in part. See http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/12/us/12jackie.html?hp&pagewanted=a ll for details. The Kennedy library is also premiering a special exhibit, detailed at http://www.jfklibrary.org/Exhibits/Special-Exhibits/In-Her-Voice.aspx
