Ted Kennedy missing from series
Does anyone know why Ted Kennedy was not shown in any of the episodes? I find that really weird since all of the other family members were included.

shareThere wasn't enough time to feature him. He was in the show as a kid in the first episode and that's about it. I wish the series would at least have the characters would mention him every now and then if even just a throw away line that acknowledged he existed.
The show didn't at all mention JFK's older sister that died in a plane crash.
The only exclusion that bothered me was Eunice Kennedy Shriver.
Maybe there's an invisible hand guiding me to all that's great and good.
Having Edward appear as a child and never featured again, is like the Kennedy equivalent of Richie Cunningham's brother in "Happy Days", who appeared early on, yet was never seen again, without explanation.
shareSince Ted was young and just getting started, I expected little would be said about him, But I didn't think he would be totally left out.
But I am shocked that no mention was made of Kathleen Agnes "Kick" Kennedy, who died in 1948 in a plane crash.
According to The Kennedys-American Experience (a PBS dvd, which is awesome)Joe, Jake and Kathleen were the Golden Three, according to their father Joe Sr.
The above mentioned PBS offerings is worth the money! Ted is shown a lot more.
God bless the Kennedys!
The omission was embarrassing!
As far as the production is concerned, it was....just OK. Very soapy.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain.
Any show about the Kennedy's that eliminates Ted is garbage. Ted was bad enough, there was no mention of the sister who died during WW2 and Eunice. I was looking at it on Netflix and realized there was no mention of them halfway through the series. Now I know why the History channel dropped the series. It should of been on the Sci Fi channel instead. Ridiculous.
shareThat's what I was wondering. The series loses credibility by excluding Ted.
Music is the mediator between the spiritual and the sensual life.
I'm watching episode 6 and I found this frustrating. The series is really about JFK and RFK and really should have been named "Jack and Bobby" (I know there was a TV series by that name)
I guess from a dramatic standpoint it makes sense as there is no way to fit in everyone's stories in a mere 8 hours.
I imagine they were a bit touchy about the Ted issue as he died recently. When does the series go up to? If it stops before 1969, it's a reasonable omission.
It doesn't make the show "garbage" anyway.
I saw the Netflix version as well and I assume they cut a lot of footage. They show in the episode openings scenes of Marilyn singing Happy Birthday but the whole Marylin connection was reduced to a stub in one episode. No scenes from the birthday party are ever shown. There was such a lack of continuity I can't imagine they're streaming the series as it was intended/filmed.
