Saw this last night

I was invited to a special screening. This film, as noted before, is fiction based on history. Those of us who know history, know what happened and why. I'm here to talk about the movie. The film was well written. The scenery is beautiful. The music is inspiring. The acting was great. Some of the characters were based loosely on actual people and events. One complaint - Perhaps it was because it was an early screening and still has kinks, but I couldn't handle the "shaky" camera footage. This movie is about standing up for what you believe in, having courage to do so. It just happens to use the Cristiada as the backdrop.

one question, what role does nestor carbonell play, is it a small part or does he have an impact at all?

just curious because he was awesome in lost and very underrated.

Looking forward to seeing it, "AS A MOVIE!!" not for a "HISTORY LESSON!!"

I watch movies for entertainment, especially if I like the actors and the movie is done well.

When I want to learn history I will study it!

If this movie is actually "about standing up for what you believe in, having courage to do so. It just happens to use the Cristiada as the backdrop," then it is worthless.

To choose such an obscure (to American audiences) event as the Al Christo Rebellion to make suich a nebulous point would be ridiculous. This film may more than what you say it is.

"Al Christo Rebellion"

I have never seen this term on any history book (English or Spanish.) I have seen either "La Cristiada", "La Guerra Cristera", or "The Cristero War." Although I've eaten tacos "al pastor."

Also, Christ's name in Spanish is "Cristo."
