[spoiler]While it's true that Gorostieta (Garcia) was a skeptic who was convinced (bought) to lead the Cristeros movement, and that he did wear a crucifix for the shallow purposes of ingratiating himself to his troops, there's no evidence whatever that he ever considered becoming religious.
