IT BOMBED!

#10 with barely $1 million! Thank you America for not supporting this PAN-funded propaganda glorifying Mexico's version of Al Qaeda!

reply

The current estimate is $1.8 million (nearly two million dollars, not barely one million). We will have to wait until Monday to see the actual numbers. However, the estimate is not likely to be off by very much.

HaHa.... Fug this glorified made for TV bullcrap

ALL HAIL MEGATRON!!

Why all of the vitriol for a movie that nobody is making you watch? You might want to ask yourself what it is about such a movie that gets so much under your skin and why it does as such.

Just remember, people, that while it may or may not make a ton in the U.S., it should do well in other markets like Mexico, where the events actually took place.

Actually it premiered in Mexico nearly 2 months before its U.S. release and bombed over there too. With all the problems being caused by violent groups like Los Zetas I doubt many people over there feel an urge to see a flick glorifying the Cristeros/Taliban.

reply

So negative and down. Hope life is treating you well. Some of the negative comments on here are kind of freaking me out man! It's like, whoa! Why would a movie like this get so many people foaming at the mouth?

I heard about the Cristeros in my family way before this came out. Take it easy brother, take it easy! You're going to be ok.

reply

Maybe because they know it's PANista propaganda.

VOTE AMLO!

reply

It was sold out today. I enjoyed it and will suggest that anyone who cares about religious freedom watch it.

reply

Great movie! Loved it.

reply

as opposed to all the PRI ista propoganda that was made for decades and often subsidized by the U.S.? I'm a centrist but either you're pissed of religion or you're pro AMLO and want your free torta for your vote!

reply

it was only on 757 screens, when most wide release films get somewhere between 2,500-4,000 screens. Also, the film was produced for 12 million so if it can reach that number I'd consider it a disappointment not a flop. Let's wait and see if the film gets a wider release in the coming weeks?

reply

Exactly. Considering its limited release, it's not doing that poorly and will do greater business in other countries.

reply

While 700+ screens doesn't seem like much these days, technically, a Wide Release is only 600 or more screens. Thus, the film did have a wide release (not a limited one like IMDB said). And Piranha 3DD, at only 87 screens had a limited release, but was listed as a wide release. (Sigh!)
