straight to dvd?
Looks like it
shareSome films take months to find distributors, they probably would have found one by now had they premiered the film at the film festivals that are going on right now (Toronto).
shareCorrection, I read the blog of the director and apparently they finished filming on September 13th of 2011. He said he was going to start the editing process which could take months. This explains why we had no word on a release date, the film had not finished, but it will definitely get a release in 2012.
sharewow. Actually i saw a free preview of this movie in Feb 2011. I thought it was pretty complete for the most part. And what I saw-I enjoyed. It made me want to research more about the events that inspired this film. During that viewing several people were kept after to question what they liked and didn't like. But I guess the film-makers went for some re-shoots.
I remember that for me at least there were some characters that stood out, which were Garcia's character, a boy-Jose, the Mexican President Calles, and 2 revolutionist-"El Cartoce" & a Priest. All the other characters were supportive. I know Eva Longoria is in this movie, but with all honesty I never noticed her in the movie (which is good)-She was a significant supportive character.
Nonetheless, I am very curious when this movie will be released and what the changes are. Am very surprised about the name change of Cristiada to For Greater Glory, which may very well be better for the movie in regards to getting a larger audience.
In theaters June 1.
Looks like not.

"a subject no one cares about"?? You mention "20 million illegals" in your post as well. How about people who like historical movies? There a a ton of them. And how about the millions of Mexican-descended people in the U.S. southwest whose families were in that same place when the U.S. southwest was part of Mexico?
You just come off as an ignorant bigot in your post. We could name dozens of historical movies that are not directly related to U.S. history. You just saw this as a chance to make flaming remarks about immigrants from Mexico.
Kelly-Anne, great response to the insulting post by Honululugold. One can wonder whether such a patently infammatory post is genuine or, just the silly attempt by a clumsy, unsophisticated agent provocateur. If the poster meant what they said, it is unfortunate, since he/she is totally ignorant of an entire population that cares deeply about such events, e.g., my wife, a third generation Mexican American who came away with a greater appreciation of her heritage and countless non-Hispanic Catholics and non-Catholics alike who care about religious freedom. After all, the U.S. was founded by folks seeking religious freedom...how sad some people are so illiterate of history and culturally insensitive to the suffering of people right on their border. Also, to conflate this moving story with the problem of illegal immigration is beyond pathetic. One wonders whether this poor soul would offer similar comments about Schinldler's List or, about the persecutions by Castro of the Cuban people, Stalin of the Russians,Mao of the Chinese...gets a little sticky when those facts are raised, eh.
