Anyone else think of Braveheart

When Andy Garcia on horseback gives that speech about the something of our wives and children and will die trying in the trailer. I couldn't make it out really, it just seemed really lame.

Why lame? Sounds like you judge books by their covers.

I'm going to see this movie with some friends when it comes out of Friday because I am very interested in the Al Christo Rey Rebellion which most Americans have never heard of.

You might want to avoid seeing this film, it might teach you something.

reply

I might want to avoid it because it looks terrible and it's getting awful reviews. The only thing you will learn from this film is Eva Longoria can't act.

reply

If one went by reviews, there would be many a classic film that would have tanked at the box office. Go to the New York Times site, and look over some of their older reviews. It's a hoot to see some of the descriptions that were given to classic films.

Reviews are merely one person's opinions. It's what the public thinks that matters.

"Al Christo Rey Rebellion"

Is this English or Spanish?

James Horner totally ripped off his Braveheart score for the piece that plays over the end credits.

When I saw the trailer, I thought the same thing ... that it looked like a poor imitation of the Braveheart speech, and although I'm a huge fan of Andy Garcia, I expected to cringe at that part. But taken in the context of the movie, it didn't come across that way at all, and in fact, I thought it was very well done.
