Another Andy Garcia-fronted anti-leftist movie
Gee, why am i not surprised. Mr. "I hate everyone who doesn't bow to the holy crucifix and conservative ideals" is at it again. Only this time he didn't direct this excrement, like he did "Lost City". It has always been in Garcia's interest to paint black everything that isn't in accord to his own ideals, which are catholicism, capitalism and conservatism-the three C's. Its not at all strange that Hollywood chose to cast light on just THIS epoch of Mexican history, instead of the one that was more important and glorious-the 1911 revolution. But then they would have to portray Pancho Villa and Emiliano Zapata as what they were-fighters against tyranny of the right-wing powers and protectors of the poor and the weak. No, lets instead thrash the damn ATHEISTS! How DARE they not believe in GOD?! And lets ignore the fact that Alvaro Obregon, described by most as perhaps the best president Mexico ever had, was killed by a CATHOLIC, a religious extremist. That would just make Hollywood and Garcia think too hard and we don't want that.
I don't like Andy Garcia. It seems his whole career since he became famous has been about proving how bad socialism/communism is and how great capitalism and USA are. Forget the fact that he's a decent actor, he's still a douchebag who portrayed Che Guevara as a bloodthirsty, grinning psychopath and only a true extremist catholic/rightwinger can do that. But he doesn't have to worry even if it turns out he was wrong about all this-after all he's a CATHOLIC and in the end he's forgiven for every mistake he might have made.
My theory on Feds is that they're like mushrooms: feed them *beep* keep them in the dark.
