Tyler and Catelynn van

Does anyone think it's funny when they see Tyler and Catelynn drive the van? It just looks like someone should be in their 40s driving that car. And all the other teen moms have really nice cars. Not saying that they need to drive BMWs or something but it just makes me laugh when I see it.

They must spend all their money on weed and pigs.

And Tim Horton's Coffee. There's at least two or three of those cups sitting around their house in every episode.

reply

Thats not unusual at all in any Canadian household.

reply

I didn't even know that they had Tim Horton's in USA lol. Only seen it in Canada

reply

They've had Tim hortons in the states since the 90s. Very prevalent in Michigan where they live. My husband even said there was a th in Afghanistan when he was there.

reply

Here in CT, there were two Tim Horton's on the same street in the town where I used to live. That wasn't unusual because I'd literally drive passed 7 Dunkin Donuts and 4 Starbucks on as 3 mile stretch of that same street. But both Tim Horton's both closed down after only a few years. I never got to try it.

As far as mini vans go, I refuse! REFUSE!!. Two of my friends swear by them for 2+ kids though.

reply

I refuse as well lol

I'm also one who would refuse a mini van. If I needed the space, I'd get an SUV based on the size of my needs. I know it's something weird to be irritated about but I just roll my eyes when I see a mini-van with those stick people family decals on the back window.

reply

Haha the stick people! And the seven bumper stickers with the little league names and the student of the month and every other social justice sticker. Sometimes I think I'll be a bad mom because I'm not into any of that stuff. And is there a way to NOT play baby and kiddie music in the car? I might just have to jump out the window. My son in my uterus seems to really enjoy Guns 'n Roses so maybe I'll be ok.

I'm from Ohio and I have Tim Hortons throughout the week.

There's one right by my house and like 5 others that I know of in the area I live in.

I do think its kind of funny actually. I'm about to have my third baby and am having to look for a slightly bigger car to accommodate 3 car seats. When I look up information about which seats fit best 3 across in which cars, etc. Every post leads back to people claiming a mini van is the absolute best option. Um no. I'm 26, and not driving a mini van!! So it is a little humorous to see someone younger than me driving something that I'm so against getting.

reply

Yes, especially because I view minivans as practical vehicles, and don't think of Cate and Ty as practical people at all.

I'm really curious what these two spend all their money on. They're about the only ones that don't have fancy cars every few months and move every year into houses they won't be able to afford a few years after MTV cuts them off. And they don't seem to take a whole lot more vacations than the rest of them. It can't all be on drugs...or could it? Maybe they're actually saving some? I just find that hard to believe...

reply

Also, Cate dresses pretty frumpy. She's always in faded clothing that you can tell she's had for years.

I don't have an issue when people with multiple kids drive mini-vans. When I had my second child I traded in my sedan for a Honda Odyssey. Have the automatic sliding doors in the back was a godsend.

Once the kids got older I got rid of the mini van. Keeping a full tank was expensive. I now drive a very small car (Honda Fit) that I love. I think it's hilarious to see Tyler and Catelynn driving in a huge van with one child. YMMV.

reply

I don't get it at all, especially with only one kid. My sister in law just bought a new Toyota Corolla and can fit both of her kids car seats in the back seat with plenty of room left over, and the trunk is huge so she can fit the stroller and diaper bag in it plus all of the older boy's stuff. Plus she got it for a very reasonable price. Who knows though, maybe they just like vans lol. Personally I never say never but I can't see myself driving one. I absolutely hate them.
