Thoughts about last nights episode

1. I find it weird how Ryan and his parents expect him to be invited to things that don't directly involve Bentley, like Jade's birthday party. I understand him wanting to meet Maci's baby though, I think I would want to meet my child's half siblings as well.

2. What the hell was Farrah thinking with those green walls and green couches in her new home?! Ugh

3. I'm not a doctor and I don't play one on TV,but I think it's obvious cate's depression and anxiety stem from her giving up a child. That had to be traumatizing and there has to be some guilt there, I don't know why no one adresses that! It drives me crazy.

4.Amber's new house is gorgeous, all I can say is, "damn Amber." I'd put it right up there with Chelsea's home. I thought her and Gary had 50/50 custody, how is it that Amber doesn't have Leah on school nights?

Ryan's parents probably thought it was weird that they were invited but not Ryan

I really think Cate's depression stems from her childhood. Yes she placed Carly for adoption, and why? Because of her parents and the fact that they were still living at home. She didn't think it would be a good life for Carly to grow up around them like she did. Now that she has Nova, Cate had said before she doesn't want to be a bad mom. She didn't grow up with the best example. I think now that she has her own kid, she doesn't want Nova to have the same childhood as Cate did.

Amber and Gary have 50/50 custody over the summer, not when school starts

I don't think it's a coincidence that she felt better at rehab, away from Tyler. He doesn't seem to help her issues. I've never thought talking about Carly all the time is healthy for either Tyler or Cate, which is what the two of them do constantly on this show.

reply

That's something else I forgot to mention, I think Tyler threatening to leave her a while back really did a number on her and didn't help her abandonment issues.

reply

They broke up for a while too, didn't they? It's probably always at the back of her mind that Tyler wants to leave her if she doesn't watch it.

reply

I also think it comes from giving Carly up for adoption I feel like she got really bad after having nova which could be a combo of post Pardum and guilt eating away at her bc now she has this beautiful lil girl but have the other up so she has to deal with explaining that to Carly when she's older. As in why didn't you keep me? Very sad she did it for the right reasons absolutely but it'll never be easy.

Amber's house was sooooo nice and she knows how to decorate!! Unlike Farrah

reply

I really liked Amber's house too. I swear that big painting on the wall was JFK and it looked pretty cool. Farrah looks in the mirror and thinks she's hot so it doesn't surprise me she'd decorate a house ugly and think it looks good.

Farrah's couch reminded me of one I had in my dollhouse in the 1960's. Same odd green color, same basic style. Maybe it's coming back... but it's still ugly. And the neighborhood seems like an unusual choice... aren't they right on a busy street? It didn't even look entirely residential.

Amber's house isn't really my taste. I'm not crazy about the big pieces of art (and was that what she was cautioning Leah not to touch in that one scene? Hey lady, you have a kid... decorate accordingly). I hated the way she and Matt went through that furnishings store pointing and saying "We'll take that, and that, and that." Just seemed so tacky... but I guess that's about where they're at.

The style of the couches wasn't bad, just the color, my god that might as well have been a 70's themed living room lol.

In Amber's defense, she did say, "we sound like douche bags" at the furniture store lol at least she recognized that and laughed at it.

I disagree, I think her anxiety and depression stems from her childhood, but her giving UP her child, helps to compound both, as well as her smoking weed and having Nova.

this depends on does she have joint legal or physical custody?

reply

As others have pointed out, it comes from her childhood, which she stated st the end of the most recent episode. Her mother was an inconsistent parent with a horrible addiction, so it makes sense that she has abandonment issues. Throw in PPD, Tyler harping her about her weight, then threatening to leave her. That's an explosive mixture.

You've got red on you.
