Quit acting like Tyler is mr. perfect. At least Cate is trying to get help. Wtf is tyler doing. she pisses me off.

She is the only adult that has shown any kind of normalcy to these kids and she also knows a big tub of BS when she sees it. She knows Catelynn is full of poo and isn't scared to say it.
shareShe also knows both Tyler and Cate in real life and has insights to their relationship that we have no idea about. Something is seriously wrong with Cate, her actions after getting out of rehab such as still smoking pot, eating crap foot, etc. show that she hasn't changed much. Tyler's mom is probably worried that Cate is going to eventually pull Tyler and Nova down to drown with her and I can't blame her for that.
We've also seen her bag on Tyler for his lack of gumption so I don't think she's only picking on Cate.
Like has been said, she knows Tyler isn't perfect but he is her son and his is the back she is going to have. I could see Tyler raising Nova though if things go south with the marriage. He would be better than Cate. At least he gets out of bed and cleans himself up. She would lay in bed all day if he didn't make her get up. I think this depression is part or attention and part laziness. I know the adoption screwed her up as did her childhood, but if you aren't going to use the tools that therapy gave you, then it's your own fault.

Because I think he should have taken the time to get rid of all of this stuff, got food that is better for you to eat, and only a little bit of snack food while Catelynn was in rehab, I mean he has experience with drug addicts and alcoholics. He should know it's not a good idea for them to come back & see that they still have access to their old habits.
I know catelyyns not an addict or alcoholic, but she did go to rehab so the same things should still apply.and Tyler is not happy about her weight either so you think he would've been an *beep* and did it anyway, by doing it for himself.

How can you blame it 90% on Tyler? Lol. Cate is her own person and makes her own decisions. We didn't see her eating junk food that Tyler left laying around the house. She was eating a big giant container of food that she went out and bought. She also told Tyler it was OK for him to continue smoking around her. It seemed to me that she already intended on smoking again.
shareEverything cate did before she went to rehab I blame 100% on her not Tyler. The reason why I said i blame 90%on Tyler after rehab is because he knew that she was going to come back to same environment she left, but it didn't seem like he tried to change anything to help while she was gone. Besides work on the other & not what was going on inside the one they lived in. This is what it SEEMED like to me.

I agree. They are lucky to have her in their life. I just can't picture Kim and Butch together.
shareKim is the only person with sense on this show lol. She has said things to Tyler about his laziness and lack of motivation so I don't think it's anything against Catelynn.
share^This. She may not have anything positive to say about Cate right now, but that's because there isn't anything positive to say about her currently. And she may side with Tyler more, but it is her son and it's natural. Kim still calls him out too.

shareYeah, I can understand Catelynn not wanting to air that information to the world, but you can bet she and Tyler would just sweep it under the rug much easier if Kim hadn't called her out. And hiding and/or ignoring a problem that is still there isn't going to help things either.

shareCatelynn is a sad sack of crap. I have depression and severe anxiety and panic and NEVER looked or acted like that. Never had other people watching my kids like she did constantly for a while, never layed in bed all day while my kid needed me, never stayed in dirty hair and hoodies 24/7. Tyler is a good guy, decent looking and put-together. She's a frumpy shrew who let herself go in every way. Tyler's mom calls it like she sees it. Tyler could do a lot better&Cate is going to drag him down. Something is changing behind his eyes.
shareDepression and anxiety has a different effect on different people. Congratulations if you were able to keep it together while having it, but not everyone can. If you truly suffered from it I'm surprised you are so quick to put someone else down who exhibits different symptoms than you did.
shareI think his mom speaks from experience. She was married to Butch. So I am sure she knows what it is like to be unhappy and to want better.
Think she just wants better for her son.
And I am not saying that Butch and Catelynn have the same issues. They each have their own sets. And both would be difficult for a partner to deal with.
If Tyler were my son, I would be very concerned too. He seems miserable lately.
Everytime his moms on all they do is bash cate.

Cate is trying to get help? Hmmm, that's news to me. You must be watching a different show. In fact, she's doing the exact opposite and all the wrong things. All she does is whine the same redundant crap to her passive therapist, who just sits there and gives her no good advice. The lady seems totally under-qualified.
Is Tyler's mom annoying sometimes? Yes, but so what? Tyler isn't the one with the issues. I would be extremely frustrated and wanting positive change for my son as well, if Cate was my daughter in-law. share
She needs to take some advice from Amber & go to whoever gave her help.
