That Tyler's friend (cates cousin I believe) said what we were probably all thinking when tyler kept saying he's not allowed to say anything. You're her husband for crying out loud! You have more than enough right to say something to her. I was even happier when the therapist said the same thing. Whoever gave tyler the advice not to say anything to her is on crack. Although, I have to admit when he finally did confront her it came across as harsh (I understood his frustration though) but he went from not saying anything at all to just letting it rip. It's sad that the only thing that registers with Cate is Tyler threatening to leave her.

Did they show someone actually telling Tyler to not say anything or was that when he went to visit her and it couldn't be filmed? I just can't believe someone told him to shut his mouth and not even try to motivate her. I'm feel like he was probably told not to be too pushy and they just took that as he shouldn't say anything. You can't just expect someone who doesn't even want to get out of bed to take the initiative to call and make appointments and motivate themselves to get out and set goals and be active without a little bit of motivation. I know Tyler gets a lot of hate and I'm not a fan of his by any means but he cannot just sit there and let his wife go down the drain.

My husband struggles with depression and PTSD and last year he got so bad I really worried he would hurt himself. So we sat down and talked about what he really wanted out of life and he decided to go back to school. We made a cross country move and he's got a job he loves and we're both back in college and our daughter is thriving. You cannot just sit back, shut up, and watch your spouse suffer. It's not fair to anyone in the family.
