Farrah's business will fail

Honestly has she ever even had a real job or any experience in food service? And she's supposed to be acting as the manager? 1. She doesn't even know the difference between a fridge & freezer or what temp her product needs to be at!
2. She thinks to set up for the day including fresh toppings/fruit should take 5 minutes.
3. She thinks an average shift is working 40 hrs in 3 days ! Hahahah what a fool

reply

True. Farrah is capable of coming up with business ideas, but she has no idea how to execute.

4. She thinks that "do you have children" , "do you live with parents?" , etc., are appropriate interview questions.

*cringe*

I can totally see her asking "do you plan on getting pregnant?" or "are you pregnant?"

reply

Farrah didn't take a business law class in college, otherwise, she would have known both of those questions are illegal to ask in a job interview. Date of birth would have come out on an application, but can not be asked verbally.

I'm confident she pays people to actually do all that stuff and is just acting for the cameras. Yes, Froco was probably her own idea. But if it's really a good marketable one, time will tell. It seems ok. But no different than the many frozen treat places that already exist. The real money is in what you can sell at grocery chains, not a store front with outrageous rent and staff to pay.

I'm not familiar with Austin at all, but I've wondered what the local competition is like. If there isn't much, she might luck out and be there for a while. But if other places that really know what they're doing are nearby, there's no need for another similar business and it might close up pretty quickly. That's one of the things Gordon Ramsay always points out on "Kitchen Nightmares"... you can't keep a crappy Italian/Greek/Whatever restaurant in business if it's right around the corner from a hugely successful place serving the same type of food, of much better quality.

Those interviews must've been fake or re-enacted for drama..usually you're at least going over the application and/or resume with the person but there was no paperwork. Also the illegal questions she was asking. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but if employees work 40 hours a week, are employers required to provide some kind of benefits? Or does that just depend on the size of the company?

reply

Her attitude, as expected, during the interviews, was also bad. If anyone with sense interviewed with her would run away from that prospect. Farrah is a nightmare. She is lucky to have he parents even if they aren't winners. They are devoted.

reply

The one employee said she used to work there " when the other people owned it " and described the process of setting up for the day . It was obviously the same setup a fro yo place . So they failed and now Farrah thinks she can reopen and make it a success . Don't think so

I believe if the company has more than 5 full time employees, they have to offer health insurance.
