Will Farrah Be Able To Keep Employees?

If Farrah plans on being at her yogurt shop often I really can't see ANY employee being able to put up with her. Her manager will probably get the worst of it. The 1 girl told her it took an hour to get set up and Farrah says no more than 15 minutes and she really expects 5 minutes to be enough. Wouldn't surprise me if she went off and the whole crew said see ya.

She is so hated I wouldn't doubt if people don't go there just to spite her. Then again other people might go there hoping to see that nut job.

I was in Austin for the friday night lights reunion and passed by the shop. There were a lot of cars in the parking lot and saw people walking in.

Not to mention that many of the questions that she asked in the interview process were illegal

reply

reply

Wha did she ask. I don't see most of the episode.

She asked one girl if she had kids and she asked her age....those are big no no's!....also, it was painful to hear her talk to her mom about the business & how she mastered the art of marketing......if I had to hear her say Koba da Boba one more time ?

reply

You'd think that she would think , what does that have to do with me being able to work, if someone were to ask her this during an interview view. But it is Farrah.....

Maybe it's still legal to ask these questions in Texas, during an interviewL

I know, I couldn't believe it when she asked that poor girl how old she was and where she lived. you can't do that!

reply

And I just learned a previous employer asked me questions you shouldn't. ?

She might just be smart enough to leave the micro-managing of the shop to someone else. She is unbearable and just because MTV pays enough to keep their employees filming her and to keep her sort of boyfriend around, minimum wage workers won't hesitate to walk out on her.

I thought the business sounded pretty doomed when Farrah was saying she expects everything to get set up in five minutes. She clearly doesn't have any idea of what she is into. She didn't listen to the girl being interviewed, who has actually worked in food service before and knows what it takes to get set up.

Also Farrah looked ridiculous conducting the interviews in those sunglasses!

I surely wouldn't want to work for her.

What I did not get is that she asked one of the interviewees if they were food certified. Why would you need a food certification to serve frozen yogurt? My first job was in Texas at a Dairy Queen. It was a minimum wage job, I didn't need any kind of education or certification. I can see how Farrah would need something being the owner. My husband had to be FDA certified, but he works for Campbell's soup in a major factory fixing the machines where product goes all over North America, not some tiny yogurt shop.

reply

I've worked in fast food all over Texas and had to be food safety certified for each job. Many cities also require local certification.

reply

What certification do people have to have now in Texas to get a minimum wage job? Did your employer pay for it?

reply

In shift management (not necessarily minimum wage, but not much above), a food handler's certification is required. The franchise I currently work for requires all of our employees (majority minimum wage) to have a food handler's license, but I think that is specific to this city. When I worked in Austin, it was also required. The cost for a food handler's permit is not covered by my current franchise, but I have worked for some that do cover the cost.

reply

Wow, that seems crazy. I live in Ohio now. So if I went back to Dripping Springs where my family lives outside of Austin, I would have to have food certification to work at Whatabuger?

reply

So you have be certified to fry French fries at the local McDonald's?

Yep, if these employees are smart enough to keep records of abuse, they'll strike gold.
