Drug use this season

It sure seems like there is a lot of mention of drug use this season. Catelynn is shown smoking, and often seems high ( this episode she drove up onto the curb and seemed out of it when she walked in after missing her dr. appt). She often talks about "changing up her meds" and I am thinking that the last thing she needs is another rx if and when she ever sees a psychiatrist. Rehab did not seem to do her any good at all, and she needs some serious help. Amber has discussed anxiety meds also, and has mentioned Buspbar (sp) and Klonopin ( which she probably cannot take due to her sobriety), but we were given the impression that she wished she COULD take it. Ryan and Taylor ( and his friends) often seem like they could be stoned, as does Tyler, who mentions "lighting it up" with friends. It just seems like they are all SO young to have all of these anxiety problems. They all have new homes and new cars every time they turn around, and Amber is spending $900 at a kid's boutique on a few outfits! None of them have real jobs, except the filming for MTV ( although I know Taylor has a job). They are not exactly setting a great example for teens who watch the show.

Before we know it Teen Mom is going to have to turn into a rehab show. It's really sad how so many of these young people appear to have no hope or zest for life even though they all have healthy kids who need them.

These young people have never been motivated to do anything which is why being an adult is so hard for them. It's pathetic. Think back to "16 and Pregnant." All they would do was lay around their parents' houses, text their friends, and clearly have sex behind their parents' backs. No one had extracurricular activities (although did Farrah do cheerleading?). No one had a job, which IMO is ridiculous for sixteen-year-olds to not have a part time job, let alone now. They are lazy, whiny, hypochondria-ridden brats who write off any displeasure in their lives as "anxiety," and thereby throw insult to anyone who truly does suffer from mental illness.

[Disclaimer: I promise I'm a middle-aged East Coast woman, and not Farrah] Yes, as a matter of fact, Farrah did do cheerleading in high school, so that's a definite extra-curricular. I don't remember about any of the other girls, but it's possible they had activities that didn't make the edit.

Farrah also had a job... she was working at some kind of call center. I only remember that because she had a fight with Derek when he called her at work and she told him to leave her alone. That would be saintly "Daddy Derek" who can do no wrong now that he's been in the ground for eight years.

Strange as it is to say... Farrah was a go-getter when she was a teen, and she's still the one with the most forward momentum, even though she goes about almost everything the wrong way and doesn't know what she's doing the majority of the time and doesn't care about anybody else's rights or feelings. Farrah's couch doesn't have an imprint of her fake butt on the cushion. You have to give a few points for that, even though she's such a train-wreck otherwise.

On Maci's "16 and Pregnant," she played softball (or fast-pitch), and. I think she also did another sport too. Then there was her love of riding and the great debate with Ryan over which ride was better; bmx or four-wheelers.

I think she also had a part-time job. Catelynn and Amber appeared to have only school going on and barely that.
