Will Amber and Matt ever get real Jobs?

They sit on their asses all day getting paid by MTV. How about they get real jobs and skills. They can save the MTV money and work so they have flowing income coming in. Maybe Amber won't be so depressed staying at home all day.

I agree. She needs to get over her "fame" and get over the haters and get a job in a call center or something like that and that would make her less depressed. Get some normalcy in her life. It's not good to be at home all the time.

Doesn't even have to be a full time job, 20-25 hour a week somewhere.

If she works in a callcenter she'll get fired the first day for insulting the customer. Girl has no patience and a big temper.

Rwmember how she used to yell at Gary in her calls to him?

I don't see her working in a callcenter tbh but it's not definetely not a bad idea for her to get a job..

As for the house flipping thing; I am willing to bet she oversees things from her couch and doesn't bother with any of the (construction) work

Does Amber have a felony conviction? If so, that combined with lack of education and experience, she is gonna be hard pressed to find a job.
But unless these girls are saving and investing wisely, they are all gonna have to think about jobs soon enough.
Look for some of them to just end up on welfare (definitely see this for Catelynn, as that is how she probably grew up. And maybe Amber will end up going the same route).

I completely agree with you jomccalister!

How much longer can Teen Mom go on? Maybe a few more years at the most. It already feels like it's on its last legs. I hope they have saved some of their MTV money, as it will not be coming in forever. And life is very expensive these days, especially with no gravy train like they are getting now.

When Amber spend $900 for Leah's school clothes, I cringed while thinking that she needed to save that money now while she can instead of just blowing it on overprices, impractical dresses. Go to Target and Old Navy and spend $100 dollars, and save the rest. There are so many place that sell cute girls clothes for much cheaper. The same thought went through my head as they were buying new furniture for their new house, while just pointing at things they like and saying 'we'll take that and that and that'. (Michael Jackson did the exact same thing many, many, years ago in this one documentary about him, and I thought it was very bizarre. A sign that someone is very out of touch with reality).

I really hope that Amber has a longer range plan for her life. Especially because Matt doesn't seem too inclined to work either. He seems to enjoy piddling around and collecting the MTV checks as well. Even though there is no real reason why someone like Matt shouldn't work at least part time. Make a little extra on the side to put away for a rainy day.

MTV films, what, maybe once a month at the most? What the heck do they do the rest of the time? Get a job and get established now before Teen Mom ends. Then there is something to fall back on when the slap in the face happens after the fame and MTV $$$ disappear and nobody cares anymore.

I agree. I can't see it going on for too much longer. None of these girls even do anything interesting. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing, I still watch it. But it's the truth. Nothing really happens in any of their lives that is very interesting to watch.

There is no real reason why someone like Matt-in their 40's shouldn't have a CAREER & had a HOUSE of his OWN before moving in with Amber.

She is an ex fellon. She also only has a GED. I don't think there are many opportunities for someone like that. Her home flipping, if its legitimate, is probably a wise route for her to take. She has admited to having multiple mental conditions, so not interacting with people is probably safe for her.

I don't see Catelynn or Amber being responsible with money. I could easily see them both lose everything down the line. They don't have any backup plans.

At least Farrah and Maci are investing in other sources of income that are promising and seem legitimate.

Flipping homes is a business and can be very good money!

reply

I mean... they do flip houses. That IS a real job. Or does it only count when you're watching couples on hgtv do it? Because it's amber and Matt and we have to put them down every single episode for 1 thing or another, it doesn't count with them. Give me a break.

My in-laws are pretty wealthy because they flipped houses for 15 or 20 years. My FIL is a retired high school teacher (honorable profession but not very high-paying) but he had a small construction company on the side with his brother and they'd do all the work themselves. That's the best way to make money, if you can do a majority of the work yourself without having to pay other people. It's a good way to make money, we're doing that with our current house.
