OMG. She is absolutely hysterical over the Carly situation. I am 100 percent convinced this is the heart of ALL her issues. She should have never given Carly up. It ruined her life and stole her happiness. God bless her heart. It is painful to watch.
shareWhat's with Nova slapping her in the face all the time? I think there are issues with Cate that go back deeper than the adoption. I think the adoption was a result of the issues she was already having because of her messed up, neglectful family situation. The adoption was probably the best thing for Carly, in my opinion.
Caitlyn is now in a much better place and can focus on her relationship with Nova, who is young and vulnerable. She needs to get to the bottom of the anger that baby is feeling towards mommy, in my opinion.
I really don't think there is znhthing there with the face zlapping. My daughter is 2, I went to pick her up from her grandpa's after she spent the night and when I walked in the door she shoved me and said go away momma (was having fun, didn't want to leave).
She went through a phase when she was about Nova's age where she would slap everyone, especially if you were saying goodbye to her. She's slapped the glasses off my face as well as many others there for a while. Thank God she grew out of that.
When Nova gets older she will likely have many issues with Cate...always plying second fiddle to Carly, being passed off the April all the time, Cate sleeping a lot, etc. But for now I really think she's too young and the slapping is just a phase most kids go through.
Catelynn is in a much better place now? Are we watching the same show?
I was just watching some first-season Teen Mom over the weekend, and Cate is almost unrecognizable. She was so lively, cute, articulate, smart, and full of life. I hate seeing what has happened to her, whatever the reason. I hope she gets the help she needs.
shareI too think Catelynn is heartbroken over the loss of Carly. It's likely at the root of many of her issues with depression. Nova makes the loss of her firstborn all too real; Catelynn is realizing the depth of her loss. My heart goes out to her.
I think she may also have repressed rage for Tyler for forcing the adoption. She may be afraid to express even a bit of it for fear he'll leave her. Her father abandoned her and her mother was clearly emotionally abusive. She's had a very tough time.
It breaks my heart that Cate doesn't give Nova the attention she needs because of her issues - including the main issue of giving up Carly. Nova is paying the price. Cate forgets she does have a beautiful baby girl that wasn't given up for adoption and she's missing out on her life.
Tyler looks like a dad. Cate looks like a girl holding a baby.
Catelynn may be feeling enormous guilt when around Nova. She may feel unworthy of her. Of course, she shouldn't feel this way, but depression can be very complicated.
