Last night's episode - Farrah
She scares me and I am an adult. Can you imagine how much she scares little Sophia?
That scene of her popping off at Deborah was straight out of the exorcist.
What a monster! Yikes!

It was terrifying. The crew looked scared. So toxic for Sophia.
Farrah has so much rage, I just don't get it.
What's scary is how Sophia is completely unfazed.
shareI agree. And as much as Sophia is far from my favorite kid, I actually did like her in this ep. She answered Farrah honestly and quite eloquently (and then got bashed for it because her honesty doesn't match Farrah's version of reality) and she was very kind to Debra.

Why doesn't Debra get a life and leave Farrah the hell alone?? I don't get that. Those two must be completely codependent. That family is really twisted. To me, Debra is really creepy and constantly clinging all over Farrah, kissing her a$$ in that disgusting baby talk. Ugh.
shareI think Debra is only around Farrah to be able to see Sophia and because of money. Debra wants that MTV money and to be able to borrow money from Farrah. That's why she puts up with Farrah's abuse and defends Farrah's porn career. Farrah know that Debra will put up with anything from her because Farrah can always take Sophia away. Now that Farrah has money, she's even more of a nightmare. I felt so sorry for Simon too. Damn.
shareIf you look closely at Sophia, she isn't unfazed. She almost looks shell shocked. She is a very unhappy little girl. Farrah needs to see a shrink. She's mentally ill, bi-polar or something. She is cray cray.
shareWhen the bouncer showed up I knew we had reached a whole new level of hell.
shareI really think something happened, or in Farrah's mind happened in her childhood that she is still resentful about. You just don't get that way naturally. She seems to have it out for Deb more than Michael, but she still pops off at him once in a while. I could see where Deb would be a passive aggressive bully, but Farrah needs to move past it and if she can't, those two need to be apart. Deb could more than likely get visitation with Sophia.
shareBased on something they said on one of the reunion shows (the one where they were wearing those cheerleader shirts with a hypocrisy meter on them?!?!) it seems like Farrah was abused by someone else in their family as a child, which would be bad enough, but in addition to that it sounded like Michael and Debra either knew about it or at least suspected but were so wrapped up in themselves that they didn't protect her.
Not to defend Farrah, but that kind of thing can really mess a kid up and turn them into the kind of adult we see in Farrah now.
You're right - those two need to spend some time apart. They keep going to therapy to work on their "communication", but as long as they are both living in their own separate reality there won't be any real communication between them.
"Not to defend Farrah, but that kind of thing can really mess a kid up and turn them into the kind of adult we see in Farrah now."
Very astute observation. This is very true. Once that blueprint has been formed in her psyche it is hard to get around it. No amount of "therapy" can fix that type of tramua . I am assuming it was sexual abuse. It also follows that those who enter the adult entertainment business were victims of sexual abuse at some point in their lives which enables them to engage in sex for money/on film.
Though we don't really know what she disclosed to "dr.jenn" when she revealed the abuse she suffered we can only surmise what it might be.
Except she claims she lost her virginity to derek on prom night. I think she wants people to believe she experienced some trauma, but I'm betting she had a roughly normal upbringing. I think she is rougher on Deborah because she (Deb) takes it more than Michael. I think Farrah has a lot of insecurities and hates the idea of those close to her putting anyone before her.
What is funny is how she was telling simon that he was going to be 30 and still single (because, apparently according Farrah, there is no worse fate in the world) but when you compare her to all of the other moms from TM or TM2, she is the only one who hasn't had a real relationship from her 16 and Pregnant days up to the present. And no, Simon doesn't count because MTV is clearly paying him and he obviously can't stand Farrah.
I agree with what you wrote for the most part. Sexual abuse could have been molestation but not intercourse and/or she may be lying about Derek being her first.
However, Farrah might be a bad seed. She may have been born with a mean disposition and inherently evil despite her normal upbringing. Farrah's sister seems kind of normal, though she has shown her mean streak in previous seasons. I've always thought it is bizarre we never see Ashley anymore and she isn't even mentioned.
hmm... wouldn't she have lost her virginity on prom night? If someone is molested or raped I don't think that would tell someone that that is when they lost their virginity.
shareI don't know what happened in Farrah's childhood exactly, but Debra seems far from normal and I'm willing to bet she and Michael were too involved in themselves to give any meaningful time to their kids (doesn't Farrah have a sister too?). Her childhood was probably "normal" in that all her physical needs were met, but parenting is a lot more that feeding and sheltering kids. One of my very best friends had a childhood that seemed very normal to anyone on the outside. Her mom was a teacher and all the kids and parents loved her, their house was immaculate, and they were all respected members of their community - good church going folks. But behind closed doors her parents beat the crap out of her and her brother, and she was molested by someone outside her family. When her parents found out about it they punished HER. She showed me letters her mom wrote her about what a disappointment she is to their family. Now her parents are much like Debra - they continue to pretend that they were amazing parents and they don't understand what caused their son to move away and never speak to them and their daughter to make some questionable life choices.
And whatever happened in Farrah's childhood, whether it be some monumental trauma or just hurt feelings, Debra never takes any responsibility for it. And that only infuriates Farrah more. Those two would be better off far apart from each other.
It could be something big from her past, but maybe it's a lot of little things. I know I have a lot of resentment toward my parents, mostly my mom, but there wasn't some major event that happened just a lot of little things that weren't even necessarily bad. I'm talking really stupid things, like my mom going clothes shopping willingly with my sister while she'd often tell me to just go myself; not grounding my brother when he hit me but grounding me when I call him an idiot; my mom picking up my sister from school while I always had to ride the bus.
shareHer tantrums are really scary to watch, especially considering her age and that she's a single parent. The way she went off dropping F bombs and calling Debra a b*tch, all right in front of Sophia, I felt so bad for her. She does seem just totally detached from so much of it, like she just shuts down, but now that she's older, Farrah really needs to pay better attention to what she says/does in front of her because it's going to turn into her flipping out on Farrah the same way in a few years.

It has gone past scary and is now truly terrifying. I am frightened for that little girl, honestly. It's no telling when all of that anger will manifest physically and I hope Sophia does not bear the brunt.
shareI totally agree with you! It seems like she could snap any minute and things could turn physical- who knows what happens behind closed doors to that little girl?
