Dutch book 'Marijn with the pirates' and I like Christmas eventhough we don't celebrate it. Still put up a tree though..:)
shareThanksgiving and Christmas are always stressful for me. I much prefer the holiday's like memorial day, 4th of July, and Labor day. I think it is just that we live in a cold snowy winter climate, more activities to enjoy when it is warm and not being trapped inside.
My fav book as a little kid was The Giving Tree, I guess you could consider that book for any holiday.
This was my attempt at trying to follow tradition and make a gingerbread house a few years ago with my son. It did not end well:

That ginger bread house was better than mine. At least you got yours to stick until the end. A few years ago I just did one of those tiny ones that are the size of your hands and I wasn't even half way done when it fell apart.

Don't really have a favorite holiday since I've kinda given up official celebrations. Favorite childhood book was "Harriet the Spy", and I still have a hardcover copy.
