I think I can see where amber is coming from

After watching the teen mom 2 backstage pass, I get the feeling that they do not like the doctor drew check up, and feel he doesn't really know them, just what he sees on tv like us.

Amber was getting upset, because she said she asks Gary to take Leah and he mostly says no, but now that he is on tv he is saying yes. I'm sure this is frustrating for amber, because he is trying to look good for the cameras.

She should have said "ok" and dropped it though, instead of blowing up and threatening to quit. That was rediculous. All she had to say was "ok well I have proof of you saying I can from this taping, so I will pick her up next week.

I think amber came off angry, because she is sick of dr drew asking her questions that he is well aware of. Like, are you in a program? No, you know that I am not, so why ask? He just keeps bringing up her addiction, and prompting her to talk about it when he wants to get past it.

And thank goodness she called out Farrah!!!!! Love that! Too bad Farrah lives in their denial bubble and probably thinks amber and the rest of the world is just jealous.....because you know we all wish we were ugly inside and out like Farrah smh

I don't believe that to be the case. If that was true that Gary was being phoney and dishonest - all Amber would have to say is "you're lying!! I ask for visitation all the time and you deny me to see my daughter whom I love more than anything in the world."

No. She didn't say that. She was hyper defensive about her past drug abuse, her prison time, her sacrifices, her mental illness. She made it all about her, not Leah. Furthermore, Amber CANNOT even handle having Leah on the designated Wednesday each week. Why is she asking for more time?

Amber should focus on getting herself well instead of playing the victim. ALL her problems are self inflicted. No one forced Amber to punch Gary repeatedly in the face and shoulder. No one made Amber eat fentanyl patches. No one made Amber have a bunch of strange dudes in her home when she was using drugs (self admitted). She's a Trainwreck.

The regular episodes are highly edited for dramatic effect. I doubt Gary is being a jerk and not abiding by the legal custody plan.

I lost all sympathy for Amber regarding more time with Leah when she took off with her boyfriend when it was her weekend with Leah. A parent who is desperate for more time with their child doesn't do that. She moved farther away from Leah than necessary to be in a "better area". She also just went in for elective plastic surgery which laid her up unnecessarily, which was more time she could have been spending with Leah.

I'm no huge Gary fan, but I believe him when he says Amber asks for more time but he won't talk about it seriously until she starts being more reliable dependable with her time now. If Amber doesn't like it she can always take it to court.

I can see that too but how do you explain her saying "I'm depressed because I don't have Leah" but then they show her blowing Leah off every chance she gets! That's the point Gary was trying to get across but he didn't cut to the chace fast enough and he was talked over by amber and doctor drew. He was trying to say that if she would just take her every Wednesday and every other weekend as scheduled then he would have no problem giving extra time but she can't even do that. She said she wasn't going to explain her self again and then said her depression is the reason she cancels but that the reason she's depressed is she can't see Leah. It makes no sense on ambers part, she just talks in circles.

She talked in circles all the time and throws guilt on anyone around her -even show producers because she cannot admit when she is wrong. She is a basket case and if she really loved Leah she would want the best for her. She will never prevail in getting full custody let alone more than what she has die to her record and all her continued mistakes. As Gary stated - he writes down all the dates/times that Amber is late/no show. Any judge can see that Gary is doing the right thing. Amber is an unfit parent. Bottom line.

Isn't that part of his job to ask questions that viewers want to know. Even if he knew he still needs to ask, if not whats the point in these reunions/follow ups/ Also she doesnt seem to mind going on his show (when her and matt went on earlier in the season) when it suits her. If she didnt care for Dr. Drew then maybe she shouldnt go on his show

She loves the attention/fame and the paycheck. She will continue to exploit herself to no end since this is her career.

You are giving Amber far too much credit. According to the reunion show, she doesn't even spend time with Leah and take responsibility to pick her up from school, etc when she does get opportunities to do so. What makes you think she should get MORE time? She uses her depression and Matt as excuses as to why she hasn't been around to see her for the last several months. It was absolutely pathetic when she walked off the set and was doing her little fake crying episode and saying "I quit the show, I'm done". Yeah okkk, I'll believe it when I see it....that lazy slob isn't giving up basically a free paycheck. Grow some balls and take responsibility for your kid. If you want more time with her EARN it and prove your worth.

I said that too! He said that to look good because everytime we see Amber ask for my time he says no, I can tell you right there that's what frustrated her. He's being manipulative and making us think he's never stopped her from getting more time when we see otherwise. I can't stand his ass. If he keeps gaining weight the way he is or not losing it, Amber won't have to worry about him anymore, it will just be Christina she has to deal with. But that's another story for another thread. I too was glad Amber called out Dr Drew for always handling Farrah with kid gloves. He looked taken back by that to be honest, but it was 100% true.

Yeah, it's true. But what does she expect him to do?! He has to tow the company line. Farrah helps ratings. The only way to keep Farrah on the show is being her b*tch. Producers know this and so does Dr. Drew, so...they go along to get along. Calling him out for it won't change anything. I actually think he's trying the best way possible to ask legitimate questions without pissing certain cast members off (Amber included).

Well said I love Dr. Drew, he's only there to interview and touch on some subjects not call them out like they are in therapy, if that were the case there were plenty he could call Amber out on.

I know Gary is a manipulative dude and he knows how to push her buttons. But Amber wanting more time with Leah is rich when she doesn't see her kid for a month.

If she can't be bothered to pick her uo regularly why would he grant her extra time with her?

Every time Gary is shown telling Amber 'no' its because its a school day and he wants to keep the schedule. Amber is getting surgeries, sleeping all day, going on vacations, helping Matt with his book or whatever when she could be spending time with Leah. Her segments show us what Gary has been saying but everyone just says he's a jerk, which he can be, but I truly believe he's the better and more fit parent. He's just trying to do what is right. I don't believe Amber is stable either, hasn't Leah been late for school a few times while in her care? Seriously if you can't wake up on time (and if you sleep all day, like Leah says) she's better off with an active parent.

And hasn't Maci been saying the same thing about Ryan? She would give him more time with Bentley if he actually used it, but he doesn't. Yet no one really talks crap about Maci...
