2012 is not an official release date for the movie. It's just what IMDb put down as the film's alleged release year.
Fallen is still in the beginning stages so it's very unlikely the studio (does it even have a studio yet?) even knows when they want to release the movie. If I had to guess, I'd say the earliest we can expect to see this film in theaters is 2013, assuming any progress is made with scripts, casting, and filming this year.
