They shouldn't market this as just a love triangle.... spoilerish

I don't think that it's a good idea to market this book as a love triangle. I for one never get tired of love triangles so this isn't coming from someone who is just hating and bored of the same old love triangles. But the truth of it is, there are a lot of love triangles going around these days and well according to me that's fine but.... this story isn't really a love triangle.... Therefore all they're doing is pushing away those that hate the idea of another twilight love triangle story and then for those that like it will probably end up being disappointed.

again spoilerish if you haven't read to the end of Rapture

Sure Cam seems like an option in the first book, and he's totally awesome, but when you read the ending you realize that was never ever even an option .... like not even close. He's just the amazingly hot friend that maybe you'd wanna bone a few times but not your soul mate (in Luce's case I mean of course ) And yea maybe another person could then be considered the other part of the triangle but we don't learn that until very end. I found the ending and putting all of it together to be really really cool. I wasn't sure how much I liked the series throughout the second and third books, it took me a while to get through them but the ending totally won me over. Just awesome. I think the movie will do better if it focuses on that and what sets it apart rather than another plain old love triangle (though I do love those )

just my two sense, take it and run.

***SPOILERS***

Ugh, just talking about the whole Cam thing gets me angry all over again lol. It annoyed me that there was all this buildup about Cam in all 4 books and it ultimately lead to nowhere. Why was he trying to win Luce in the first one? I enjoyed the Fallen series a lot, I really did... I just had way more questions than answers when it was all finished and it was very frustrating. I feel like the story was a great and original premise, but it wasn't executed as well as it could have been. Way too many loose ends were never tied up, too many questions not answered.

That is unfortunate.

While not a fan of the Synopis,(thanks IMDB) I have heard good things about the first book. As a fan of various Fantasy novels I know how it sucks when brought to screen in lest then steller ways.

I could understand why Hollywood plays the trite Love Triangle bit, but from what I heard so far about the first Book it really doesn't need that. Is anyone certain for sure they are going for a love triangle ?

In a fair universe, we would all be better people.

I totally agree. I think they would make a HUGE mistake to market this as a love triangle or anything lovely and cheesy. Because all these YA love fantasy stories flopped. (see Host or Beautiful Creatures or Vampire Academy or Mortal Instruments and so on...)
It has a chance if they market it RIGHT. The actors are unknown(Jeremy is the only star, really), so they can work with the story more and the atmosphere. They should market it as a THRILLER, MYSTERY fantasy mixed with romance!! Dark and gothic. Fallen angels. An awesome poster. A dark and mysterious trailer that makes you watch it over and over again. That would peek our interest I think.
They should make this "Fallen" series known, because it is NOT that popular. Mortal Instruments was popular(or the same) and it didn't do that well. It had more popular actors and a more popular company, too.

The marketing team has a tough job. So many YA adaptations flopped. I hope they learned the lesson. They should have by now. They should do well where the other ones failed.
