Just Read the Script

I intern at a film company where I have to read scripts and give notes on them after reading...bottom line, It's dumb. Really dumb. I'm not sure if it's the screenwriter's fault, or if the concept is dumb. Obviously they're trying to create a franchise like Twilight, but who knows a lot of pre-teen girls and mom's like Twilight, so anything can happen

I hate how everywhere it describes Fallen as having a love triangle. I really hope it goes by the book.

reply

Totally agree with you!

I'm rereading them due to a written exam I have next month, and I'm even more in love with the books now that I have to notice all the details.

I would HATE it if they didn't follow the books!

This doesn't surprise me. The book wasn't that great in the first place so it's not like they have a lot good material to work with.

The book is GREAT.

Sorry, don't agree. I've only read the first book. Had no interest in continuing the rest of the series. The romance between Daniel and Luce was unconvincing to me and other than Cam I found none of the characters interesting. I don't expect the movie to be any better.

No *beep* Sherlock. I know scripts get rewritten. I don't think it was all the screenwriters' fault though. The concept was stupid to begin with. The production company was testing the screenwriter's writing ability, so there were different scripts by the same writer. The others were great. SO I just think the story of Fallen is another stupid teen girl romance with no redeeming qualities. Obviously though, that's just my opinion.

It's gonna flop sooo hard...considering the want new actors and stuff, in such movies the acting is always bad and the book is cheesy as well

I enjoyed these books, although they were frustrating to read. Plot holes galore and left me with way more questions than answers. It's disheartening to see that this will be described as a love triangle, because that will immediately turn people off to this. I know this movie will flop and it's a shame because it was a truly interesting, unique concept for a book that was just executed poorly by the author. I can't imagine the movie version being much better.

I totally agree. I think it's an interesting story and plot. I like the idea of it.
The fact that the writing isn't that good doesn't matter when made into film, BUT if they market it as the new Twilight and a love triangle or cheesy and whatnot it will flop SO HARD. I still hope they learned the lesson after Host, Beautiful Creatures and others flopped.

^^ I hope so, too! "The Host" wasn't too bad, but "Beautiful Creatures" was just cheese all around, and the acting was atrocious and those accents didn't help it either. I can't take "BC" (the movie) seriously because of that.

I love the Fallen series, and I hope they stick close to the books.
