Why so hostile?

In nearly all these invasion movies, the aliens are hostile?

Why the anger?

Why can't they come her a bit more chilled?

What we humans don't have the right to defend ourselves if we are attacked or threatened?

Aliens sure piss me off in these kind of movies.

reply

Because that's just human nature.

If humans ever were the dominant intelligence and arrived at a planet of lesser beings, what do you think we would do? Wipe out the resistance and PR it as "self-defense" against the violent natives. Then we would use them up for all they have in resources. If that included brains... Market it as an exotic animal and charge $50 a plate.

What, you think people are inherently good?

reply

actually, humans have done that many times, each new area humans have moved to they generally conquer the indigenous peoples and move on.

as for invasion movies... well, they wouldn't be invasion movies if the aliens were friendly.
but most of them it's because the writers believe (as do a lot of people) that aliens are more likely to come her for resources, or to live on the planet and the humans generally just get in the way.

if you want friendly aliens, you got men in black (millions of friendly aliens and a few bad ones), E.T., the abyss, several kids movies, batteries not included, and several others.

Deceptive advertising. The very extensive ad campaign made the movie look like big-budget disaster movie, like ID4.

reply

with all the weed people smoke now days and are brain dead, the aliens should be pretty 'chill' or immobilized or stupid and have no feelings at all.
