Not a bad film at all!

This was far better than I'd been led to believe it was here.

The only major storyline criticism was that it was 'only LA' that was suffering, even though there were no media signals, broadcasts or contacts, it would have been a more fleshed out story to have had initial worldwide TV news broadcasts in the early stages (and throughout), rather than just the end shots of London, etc.

It was fantasy, sure, and not the greatest film ever, but it was way better than Independence Day etc?

I tend to agree, the movie wasn't great but it wasn't pure crap either. It is underrated by a least 1 point.

Yeah. It wasn't a masterpiece by any means, but it was an enjoyable piece of B-movie guff. And it's certainly no worse/sillier than Independence Day.

I found it perfectly watchable... The special effects were very good. Though, the story - as far as it went - served the special effects and, of course, special effects should always serve the story... For this type of film, it had a peculiarly long set-up at the beginning, but still completely failed to make me care about any of the characters... I suppose the end left room for some hope, but was really quite depressing... So, generally, it was OK, but needed more of a story and more engaging characters.

This film has one major flaw - it does not appeal to idiots and they are a substantial proportion of any audience. If you plan to make a film for a mainstream audience, you have to take into account all the potential viewers who just want to sit through 90 minutes of inanity. I am afraid the makers of Skyline were too busy trying to make a good film to remember this.

Exactly. Those who hated Skyline are most certainly also the ones who adored idiotic found footage garbage, such as Cloverfield and Paranormal Activity.

🐺 Boycott movies that involve real animal violence (& their directors) 🐾
