What part of this "Comedy" was actually supposed to be funny?
A Jew with a huge nose? *Yawn* A guy with so much botox he dribbles his water? Tim Allen did it! Crotch shots and toilet humor? What am I, 5? Trying to resurrect a (fake) sheep (puppet) using SheePR? Uummm... Devlin's husband is really gay? predictable! People being pushed into mud, swimming pools and the floor? Lazy! Adam Sandler doing (bad) impersonations? Still? Nick's "fake" German accent? annoying! Pooing on a guy's hand? EEWWW!
The only comical part I can recall is Jennifer Aniston trying to be hot and sexy!
During this past decade, I was really happy Sandler had moved away from his childhood humour and moved into more adult humour, but from this trailer... I feel like I'm lost in the 90s again! blah
***So I've seen 4 movies/wk in theatre for a 1/4 century, call me crazy?**
I don't post a lot on here, but I had to come on because I was so upset by this being rated above a 6 - to be honest over a 5 is high!
This movie was AWFUL - the wedding singer, billy madison, happy gilmour all the sandler classics may have been dumb, but at least they had good stories...
lets see, guy who makes up lies to bang chicks, bangs a chick and realize they're meant to be together(because he banged her good??) - then gets his assistant to pretend to by his ex wife- but she does a garbage job of it, and costs him thousands of dollars just for one appearance- but hey lets gowith it, I'm mean he's only a f'n plastic surgeon who at one point professes to be a genious (made it through med school without studying) and yet he thinks that pretending to have a family and take them all on vacation, with some girl he just met, and wait, now wants to marry, is a good idea??? what a piece of crap -boooo adam sandler, boooooooooooooooooooooo
i dont know what's wrong with you people ?!! this movie was pretty good and funny .. just forget about these details that you'r talking about .. did u laugh ? ok then that's what the movie wants ..
I'll never understand threads like these. IMDB didn't make up these ratings, the average viewer did and therefore because people have wildly different tastes, any person over the age of 11 should be able to understand that just because YOU didn't find something amusing doesn't mean no one else did. The movie has made over $200m, someone obviously thought it was ok.
"You want me? Come on and break the door down. I'm ready..."
I have to to agree here. Although this was obviously not a great movie, it was still enjoyable enough to kill 90 minutes. I had a few good laughs here and there..
I couldn't finish the movie. I turned it off about the time they went to Hawaii. It is like one of those comedy scenes that makes you cringe, except it lasted the entire movie past the 10 minute mark. It wasn't good, and I'm not overly critical, I can enjoy movies that are bad if they are entertaining.
Wait...so you turned it when they went to Hawaii? Yet you somehow know that the movie was bad throughout the entire movie? Sounds like bs to me. People like you really do annoy me. I realize you have the right to come into these forums and speak your opinion. But I find it really stupid to give a movie a rating (especially one like you did) and admittedly not have seen the movie in it's entirety.
It's up to a 6.3, and I really don't understand why. It was predictable, and most of the comedy was a miss. It wasn't that good, really the best part was Nicole Kidman.
Agreed, OP is probably a fat P.O.S still living in momma's basement.
And usually, fat people usually just keep getting fatter and pretty much take it out on the internet.
Just Go With It was a witty, funny, intoxicatingly hilarious romance comedy ride.
It felt great to have some new brains on the children. I loved that girl's dialogue, anything she said pretty much gave me a good hard chuckle. He was just so adorable that anything that comes out of her mouth makes you want to smile.
Sandler was just fantastic, he's no Deniro, but he gets the job done in these type of films. Great Dialogue, decent plot, doesn't try too hard, good explicit unexpected amusement from sheep importing to coconut gobbing with your ass to just about everything a good comedy story needs to fit the pieces of the puzzle.
A Solid 9/10.
Comedy might be subjective, but these kids need to light the hell p and go out more. People so f'ing serious nowadays.
Okay, so this all-or-nothing mentality (melodrama much?) is getting a tad ridiculous. I mean, these peeps that give Just Go With It a 1 or 2, or 9 or 10. Can't we all agree that it wasn't great, but it wasn't horrendous either? I laughed a few times, groaned a few more, and that's it. My rating 6/10.
Oh yeah, and the personal insults about people being fat or living in Mom's basement. That stuff is really unnecessary. But since I brought it up, it won't be long before someone hurls those same insults at me.
Some of the people here are being rediculous. This is an Adam Sandler, it isn't attempting to be Casablanca or anything like that. Sure, it's no masterpeice, but for what it is I found it very enjoyable.
If you look at the other posts the people here that are giving this movie a 1 or 2, you'll notice a pattern of posting on such intelligent shows like American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance... Obviously, the rest of the world should listen to these people instead of making up their own mind on a movie. Personally, I enjoyed the movie. Didn't love it, or hate it. It was funny, charming and well written/acted and Sandler and Anniston had great chemistry. Parts were a little over the top, but overall I would recommend it to a friend. Oh and to the OP, Jennifer was pretty damn hot in a bikini. I'd like to see anyone look that good @ 42.
Do you think they're cognisant of how bad they got it? Lets hope not, poor b@sterds
