No more 'absolutes' in this critique please!
None of you know me -- but I hope I strike a chord here. I'm tired of "absolute" opinions on these threads. And so I'll behave as though I know you, okay?
This film was another in a long line of films put out where Hollywood panders to the masses with more of the sameness. Not the "worst move I've EVER seen EVER!!!", and so, so far away from being the best.
Just pretty people getting themselves in quandries by under-communicating with each other. Young children appealing to adults by speaking LIKE adults. Nothing original here. Just that icky feeling when you watch the painfully self-aware, sleazy looking, female lead straight man (Palmer) interacting with slap-happy people you've been so familiar with for so many years. It could be Rachel and Happy Gilmore. I can't keep it straight. I've lost the ability to see Jennifer Aniston as anything but Rachel. Adam does ONE thing well. Just one thing.
Nothing new. Nothing versatile. Very forgettable.
Hollywood actors having another payday with no contribution to the art whatsoever.
I'm starting to feel 'absolute,' so I'll stop now.
